Vibin' N' Survivin' - Flute and Clarinet

$20.00

Flute and Clarinet Duet

Vibin' N' Survivin' is a funk and boogie rock inspired exploration of the style of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull's flute playing. Fun and energetic, this piece explores the wide range possible on both the flute and clarinet as well as extended techniques. The opening is funky and is followed by a smooth swing section. The piece ends with an explosive boogie rock section, inspired by the rhythm used in ZZ Top's La Grange, with both the flute and clarinet taking turns wailing out the melody.

This piece was first performed October 2021 by Mimi Anderson (flute) and Justin Schwartz (clarinet).
